The book that began it all...
Mother Mary Loyola had used the simple allegory of a little maid and the gracious King who deigned to visit her as a catechetical tool for many years...a brief sketch of this story appears in The Children's Charter, her book of advice for parents and teachers published in 1911. But it wasn't until 1919, when she sent a version of the story to P.J. Kenedy, an American publisher who took a keen interest in her work, that she began expanding what was originally a simple vignette into a full book-length story. It then took two years before this book was finished and brought out to great acclaim.
Though Mother Loyola knew that children would love this wonderful story, she could not have foreseen that it would be this, her only allegory and one of her last published works, that would rekindle an interest in her work many years later.
This special Centenary Edition of everyone's favorite book is truly a treasure! Very nice, I haven't used them yet
love it
My kids love it and we love it too. Itโs so inspiring book
I had borrowed this book from a friend years ago and wanted to purchase my own copy to use in our homeschool. My son is a new server at a TLM Mass and it is helping him with his movements as well.
I really like the Prayer Cards on Carlo Acutis. I wish I could afford to get them for each of the 250 children in our CCD program. I'm glad to have them for our 2nd graders.
They are beautiful
I love them! I'll be giving them to my 8th grade CCD students.
Great love it
It is compact, complete, and easy to keep by your bed or in a purse or pocket.
Good price , nice size and awesome information in the back.
The narration was so engaging that my kids were captivated from start to finish. It made the story memorable without feeling overwhelming. I especially loved how it highlighted the Knights of the Immaculataโmy children really understood the beautiful distinction between knights who serve a country and knights who serve our Lord. A wonderful balance of being thorough yet approachable. Highly recommend!
I teach 2nd grade catechism canโt wait to give my students his holy card and share his story with them.
Thumbs up!
Beautiful and succinct commentary on the rosary. The best Iโve ever read. Worth every penny and more.
Wonderful, innocent and profound book for little ones about our King Jesus hidden in the Eucharist.
I know my grandkids love this story because they have on the hard drive in their van. Having the book means they can have it read to them when they are sitting at home before the fire this winter.
Beautiful edition of this book. This book is well worth the price, and we highly recommend it!
Thanks!
