This book gives an in-depth but easy-to-understand explanation of the Catholic Mass. Though the Tridentine Latin Mass is the only subject matter, by osmosis the reader will be enlightened on the Catholic Novus Ordo Mass as well as the Divine Liturgy of the Eastern Orthodox Church since the three liturgies share a similar structure and history.
Love this book. The cover is of the church I grew up in in St. Louis, MO.. St. Francis de Sales. The reading of this book is easy and very easy to understand. I learned about this book from a group called Mass of the Ages which is what this book is about. The Latin Mass and the reverency and the sacredness of the Traditional Latin Mass. It's a MUST read book for all Catholics and for the Traditional Catholics who seek to know more of an understanding of the Latin Mass which is all in this book The Latin Mass Explained.
Our family is blessed to have our cathedral offer the Extraordinary Form every Sunday and on Holy Days. We have been there for a few years now with our two young boys. This book was pivotal to opening up the Tridentine Mass. We were very disoriented for a while, but between Masses we would read more of this book and found ourselves entering deeper into the Mass like never before. Highly recommend for all even if you dont have the Extraordinary Form offered in your area. It truly is the best we can give to God and this book helped us understand what’s happening and why I am truly there.
