My children love this book and pray as they read. I highly recommend this one!

We bought this to read to our kids (ages 1 to 8 years old) and they think it’s so cute. Our oldest reads it to her younger siblings. What a beautiful way to introduce/deepen the conversation of vocation and Vocation with our kids!

Our world needs more amazing books like this to foster Christian qualities in our children. I have purchased multiple copies of this book for my grandchildren and my church.

Was a bit bummed that photos did not represent the diversity of our country/neighborhood.

This book has delightful images. I'm always a bit worried about children's books that rhyme, but this one flows well. We really enjoy reading it again and again. Short and sweet too!

My children love this! This is the only book of this kind that I know of. It’s so important to imbue openness to God’s call (vocation) whatever it might be, starting from youth. The book is a great read-aloud picture book and the images are stunning.

We love reading this book as a family. God has a purpose for each of us and always asking and discerning His will for us. This book is a great way to discern and ask God what He is calling each of us to. Very simple quick bed time story book. Also, we have a copy in our church kids busy bag for the little ones. We are called to raise/become saints and All that God is calling us to, especially in our vocations.

This book was a gem!
The author presents the idea that we are all called to holiness, and "vocation" can mean not just becoming a priest or a nun, but ANY "job" that you do is your calling from God. From a young age, children can begin to ask God what HE would like them to do in their life, because listening to His call will lead them down the path of holiness and bring them the greatest happiness.
I was delighted to find this book, as I have yet to see another children's book that encourages vocations, instead of simply, "What job do I want to do when I grow up?"
The format of the book is very appealing, as the real pictures of the sweet, happy children are very bright and colorful and well-formatted.
Each job, or "vocation," is presented with a child performing a duty or task associated with that particular vocational choice, and a patron saint associated with that vocation is called upon for intercession.
Finally, the book ends with a short prayer, asking God's help to discover the calling that He has for the reader.
This book makes a great gift, not just for your own children, but grandchildren, godchildren, nieces and nephews, children's friends' birthdays--you name it!

It is beautifully written and it has lovely pictures. My 3 year old, son enjoys this book a lot!

It was so refreshing to have a book that shows the vocation of priest or nun, among other “occupations“ and marriage. My daughter came home from school one day and told me that she was disappointed that a book about “what I want to be when I grow up”, that was read at school, did not include being a nun. Would love to see a book for older elementary kids that goes more into what life as a priest or a religious is like!

Excellent book! I love the way it is written, geared towards children and really like that the patron saints of all the specific vocations are noted on the pages

Presents many different vocations (careers) as well as Catholic vocations (marriage vs. religious life). It has one page on marriage and one on religious life, so it feels like a normal thing that you might be called to serve God. Its not overly stressed, but is mentioned as if its just another worthwhile thing to do with your life (which it obviously is).

The pictures are bright, the content is meaningful, and the text is readable (not too much or too theological). A perfect gift for godchildren!

This is a nice little book to help your young child visualize what he/she can be when he/she grows up. What is especially nice about this book is that included along with doctors and firefighters are priests and sisters. The book gives a lot of food for thought for children who like to imagine their future.

Love this simple explanation of vocations for children! We’ve only read it a few times but my four year old just said today, "Mom, I don’t know what I’m going to be when I get older... maybe a fire fighter.. but I don’t know what God’s calling me to be.” :-)

This is perfect for young children!

I purchased this book for my Kindergarten religious ed. class, and another for my 3 yr. old Grandson. The pictures are fun, the text is informative, the mention of patron saints for various professions is ingenious. And the question on the last page, "What kind of work would you like to do for God someday?" is a good question for children, and the adults reading to them.

Great pictures and easy to read text for beginning readers, as well as being a great read aloud book to read to preschool children. I especially like the patron saint on each page!

This book is a great one for the toddler/preschool/early elementary crowd! It begins by introducing the concept that we're all called to holiness, but that God has other plans for us too. The book continues with various occupations described in rhyming text. Each occupation has its patron saint printed at the bottom of the page. There are colorful photographs of children practicing each profession. Brother, priest, nun, and married life are then presented. At the very end, listening to God with your heart is emphasized, and there is a short prayer.

This book presents an imperative topic in a fun, simple way for young children to understand. Toddlers may not understand the concepts, but will love the rhyming text. Preschoolers-elementary students naturally begin thinking of what they want to do when grown, and I love that this book stresses the importance of listening to the Holy Spirit's prompting in that decision making process, and that above all, we're called to be holy.
