The Anima Christi - Latin for “Soul of Christ”- is a beloved, centuries-old Catholic prayer. Generations of the faithful have prayed it to grow closer to Christ. The author remains a mystery but it was showing up in prayer books as early as the 14th century. Then St. Ignatius of Loyola (who founded the Jesuits in the 16th century) was so deeply moved by the Anima Christi that he featured it in his classic work Spiritual Exercises, bringing it to even more people.

The images are beautiful and capture the events perfectly. The scripture verse references are useful for the bigger kids to look deeper. I have long been perplexed why anyone could be resistant to the True Presence, knowing that throughout the Gospels, what Jesus says, happens. This book brings that to life clearly.
