The most important book we have ever published.
Now in its 5th printing
Father Steve Gallagher knows what is needed every day for our police officers.
He was one himself for 30 years
before turning in his badge (the sign of one calling)
for a Roman collar (the sign of his new one).
He has been a Catholic priest since 2011.
In his introduction, he addresses his fellow officers:
"Officer needs assistance!" "Officer needs a priority backup!"
How many times in our careers have we heard that?
How many times have we responded, without hesitation?
How many times have we requested assistance? (And received it?)
How many times have we prayed,
"O Lord, I am calling, hurry to me, listen to me, I am invoking You."
(Psalm 141:1)
In the vocation as law enforcement officers, police ask for assistance during nearly every shift while on shift. The sense of relief and assurance experienced when officers hear responding, wailing sirens or see the celestial flashing of emergency lights is quite comforting.
Not only do police officers need to ask for help, but they also need to be constantly ready to serve others. On a daily basis, they are called to serve and to protect others seeking assistance in their time of need.
In such an often difficult job, how can officers better offer (and ask) for assistance? Fr. Gallagher believes that officers can accomplish both through the power of daily prayer before, during, and after each shift.

- Prayers to start and end every shift (weekdays and holidays)
- Prayers for eleven different special assignments
- Prayers for continuing conversion and right judgment
- Prayers for those we protect
- Prayers for those who break our laws
- Prayers for those who are addicted and abused
- General prayers throughout the day
- Two complete examinations of conscience
- Scripture to know that God strengthens you every moment
Prayers are written and compiled from Scripture, tradition, and the saints.
While it is written for police officers, the daily prayers and devotionals can be used for many types of work, especially those that work directly with people!
PLUS: Each Police Officer's Devotional includes a Prayer for Police Officer's prayer card! Leave it on the fridge you can always remember to pray for your Officer.
"This book is like a retreat. I've read through it two or three times, and I can't see anybody going through this book and not having an encounter with God!"

from 6058 reviewsThe Planner is beautiful, inspiring, and very functional. The cost was also very reasonable.
Love the pictures and rhyming words to go with the story
Very nice, I haven't used them yet
love it
My kids love it and we love it too. It’s so inspiring book
I had borrowed this book from a friend years ago and wanted to purchase my own copy to use in our homeschool. My son is a new server at a TLM Mass and it is helping him with his movements as well.
I really like the Prayer Cards on Carlo Acutis. I wish I could afford to get them for each of the 250 children in our CCD program. I'm glad to have them for our 2nd graders.
They are beautiful
I love them! I'll be giving them to my 8th grade CCD students.
Great love it
It is compact, complete, and easy to keep by your bed or in a purse or pocket.
Good price , nice size and awesome information in the back.
The narration was so engaging that my kids were captivated from start to finish. It made the story memorable without feeling overwhelming. I especially loved how it highlighted the Knights of the Immaculata—my children really understood the beautiful distinction between knights who serve a country and knights who serve our Lord. A wonderful balance of being thorough yet approachable. Highly recommend!
I teach 2nd grade catechism can’t wait to give my students his holy card and share his story with them.
Thumbs up!
Full Disclosure: I am not actually in Law Enforcement (unless parenting Teens counts? Just kidding!).I love Devotionals, so when I saw this I knew I had to at least take a look at it to see what kind of prayers and writings are inside. Boy am I glad I did!
This devotional is for me - for anyone who needs encouragement and uplifting and very specific wisdom on dealing with conflict and growing closer to Christ- "At the Beginning of your Shift' and 'At the End of your Shift'. ('Shifts'= my day.)
I cannot praise this book enough. From the choice of daily Readings to the very powerful and personal prayers for each day, my faith is strengthened and is increasing..all because I took a chance to 'take a look' at this devotional. Boy am I glad I did!
This such a great tool. Its so special knowing it was written by a priest who was a former officer. Thank you!!
A wonderful, much-needed, and timely resource for anyone working in law enforcement. However, before printing the next edition of this devotional, please fix the typos. For example, in the Magnificat, back cover, it should read "And has lifted up the lowly" and on page 45, it should read Veterans Day, not Veteran's Day. There may be other typos - I got this as a gift, so I've only skimmed through it. Also, please consider adding content for The Corrections Officer under Special Assignments. Thank you.
Bought this for my son, who is a police officer, for Christmas. It looks wonderful! Much for content than I expected! I hope he likes it!
