Written and illustrated by Fr. Peregrine Fletcher, this story was crafted over 11 years of work.
When the Son of the King invites everyone to the castle, a little snail sets out on his journey to the ship that will take him there. And with only three days until the ship sets sail, there isn't a moment to lose! The snail is not the only animal who undertakes this journey, all hopeful of succeeding in the difficult journey to meet the King.
Through colorful imagery and beautiful verse, this story teaches the working of the Holy Trinity through the characters of the King, the Prince, and the Dove.
One mother told us, "My kids and I loved this book! They were able to figure out that the book was about an invitation to all of us to go to heaven but that many of us, for several reasons, choose not to go. It showed the Holy Spirit always present and ready to help us in our journey here on earth."
Written and illustrated by Fr. Peregrine (who is very busy as the Master of Novoices for St. Michael's Abbey!), children will be captivated by the cheerful pictures while also introducing them to a deep supernatural message. Katie Warner said, "What a delightful story! Full of faith and hope, Fr. Peregrine Fletcher's bright and beautifully illustrated new book, The Snail and the King, will fill young (and old!) hearts with greater longing for heaven, and gratitude for our God who calls all of usโgreat and smallโto His Kingdom."

โIn The Snail and the King, Fr. Peregrine Fletcher invites each of us to contemplate the beauty of a divine calling and to give God our "Yes" regardless of our insecurities and fears. Fr. Peregrineโs art and prose are a magnificent reminder that we never journey alone in offering our lives to God and living according to God's perfect will. For the young and the young at heart, a stirring contemplation of God's goodness and love!โ

โThere is nothing better or more important for a child to read about than the promise of Heaven and the love of their Heavenly Father. The Snail and the King is the perfect encapsulation of what it means to seek Heaven with all your heart and be welcomed by God! It is simple enough to be understood by children, but profound enough to bring you to tears. Heartwarming in the absolute best way, with the loveliest of illustrations to match, this book will be read in my home over and over.โ

from 5960 reviewsI highly recommend buying this book for families who have lost a baby through miscarriage. It gives a great explanation on something that is hard to explain to children.
It's a tale of a BEAUTIFUL journey to God - a real solace even after 46 years' loss. โฅ๏ธ
This case is perfect! I love it.
Perfect book for my 8yr old grandson who is baptized Catholic but not being brought up in a practicing home. Itโs a perfect way to introduce him to a young saint.
My granddaughter was born on the feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe so Iโm always looking for things to help her grow in her devotion. She is 8yrs old and the book is perfect for her
Fit perfect and looked great!
Nicer and more detailed than I imagined. Kids of various ages will enjoy learning about this saint as they color the pictures.
The prayers cards so wonderful, thank you so much for your brilliant work! We might be ordering more.... God bless you always!
Great case! Beautiful image, useful message for first responders, easily visible, and very protective if you do drop your phone.
Love it! Nice, sturdy and beautiful!
Would have wanted a bit more information about Our Lady of Champion.
Love these!
We used the summer faith adventure for a three half-day VBS program at our parish. The material was easy to incorporate into our program.
It would be really great if the early access included a digital download or a DVD option for the videos. Thanks!
Fabulous content...The title says it ALL - perfectly true.
I bought 2 copies for 2 of my grandkids who are heading to college in Aug. I read most of the book and thought it was great -- just basic god ideas!!!!!!!
My 11 year old son loves snails, so while he is a bit outside the age range, I have no doubt he will love this book when his Name Day rolls around.
Love the story and the illustrations! Itโs a fun book that I bought and shared with my book club. They will read them to their grands!
