In the vocation as law enforcement officers, police ask for assistance during nearly every shift while on shift. The sense of relief and assurance experienced when officers hear responding, wailing sirens or see the celestial flashing of emergency lights is quite comforting.

Not only do police officers need to ask for help, but they also need to be constantly ready to serve others. On a daily basis, they are called to serve and to protect others seeking assistance in their time of need.

In such an often difficult job, how can officers better offer (and ask) for assistance? Fr. Gallagher believes that officers can accomplish both through the power of daily prayer before, during, and after each shift.
