Porn-Proofing Today's Young Kids (ages 7 and up)

Want a natural and comfortable way to talk to your kids about pornography? This newly revised edition of the original bestseller makes that daunting discussion easy! Good Pictures Bad Pictures is a read-aloud story about a mom and dad who explain what pornography is, why it's dangerous, and how to reject it.

Featuring easy-to-understand science and simple analogies, this internationally-acclaimed book engages young kids to porn-proof their own brains.

With Good Pictures Bad Pictures, your child will never be caught off guard by disturbing videos or peer pressure!

Here's what makes these so good: Kids are so shocked, embarrassed, and guilty when they are exposed to pornography, that they don't know what to do.
That makes the problem worse with delay and more guilt. This book gives them a simple and immediate plan so they can act right away.

The 5-point CAN DO Plan™ teaches kids exactly what to do to protect their young minds when they see pornography.

"I am so grateful for this book! It was a great way to talk to my children about pornography without that awkward, uncomfortable feeling." Lisa

Parents don't need to wonder what to say--you can even use this book before beginning the talks about birds & bees!

Check out these new features in the second edition.

  • "Let's Talk!" discussion questions at the end of each chapter help kids deepen their understanding so they'll be even more prepared to reject pornography.
  • All new Tips for Parents and Caregivers section offers practical advice for raising porn-proof kids in the digital age.
  • The most up-to-date science provides kids with even more powerful arguments against pornography. A beautifully redesigned interior makes it easier and more fun to read!

An exceptionally good book. You certainly prepared this book with kids in mind. Our children seem to be the target of our now toxic society. Please keep up the good work and God Bless you all.

I was hesitant to read this book as pornography is not a word we have ever used in our household. Though I was surprised that my 9 year old was able to discern in a childlike innocence that this was meant "bad pictures of a person's body". This was the question I led with him before we even started reading the book. I would love to see a more Catholic approach to this book, but something is better than nothing to open the conversation. Some things I tweaked as we read through about distraction. I suggested praying such bad images away with say a Hail Mary or Guardian Angel prayer as much more effective than just distraction. Also when it spoke of peoples bodies being viewed as objects, we talked about modesty in dress and treating our bodies as the temples of the Holy Spirit that they were designed to be. Though he has not been exposed to pornography, the sexualized world that surrounds us makes most adults uncomfortable. I loved the "action plan" to implement should they ever encounter such pictures, even those that are immodest as I referred to in our discussion. It is unfortunate to have such conversations with our children, but best that we initiate so that they are comfortable coming to us and know that it is most often not their fault, but the dangers we face in society. I have witnessed enough even with parental blockers on You Tube things "popping up" that are still entirely inappropriate. Never trust the technology to do your job.

Get this book and do what is shared here. Parents need to be brave and shine a light by our actions by making the time for this conversation with your children.
This book is a tool that should be mandatory for all parents and relatives of our future leaders.
Pornography is the real epidemic.

Good Pictures Bad Pictures handles very well the unfortunate assault (one of many assaults) on our children's virtue. Thank you for this fine treatment of a very difficult subject.
The text is clear and direct and just what is needed.
