Show your kids WHAT nuns do every day!
This is especially great for your GIRLS to see religious life!
With charming rhyming verses, children can see a glimpse of the everyday life of the Benedictine sisters. Their lives are filled with joy, work, praise — and fun! Experience the excitement of entering the unknown mystery and beginning a new life inside the hallowed walls of the convent.
You will experience the Sisters’ excitement about first receiving their habits, their delight in caring for the elderly Sisters (with wheelchair races!), and their joy in tending the frisky farm animals, singing for the Lord, and recording their heavenly music.
You will marvel at the wonder of postulants as they seek God’s will and at the enthusiasm of novices as they journey toward their final profession as Brides of Christ.
Through heartwarming illustrations and captivating verse, you will encounter a love story like no other, with its rich seasons and uniquely enticing rhythm of life.

This is a wonderful idea!!
I purchased a pack to give to our senior altar boys. The reception, so far, has been moderately acceptable. I expect more of a response as they have an opportunity to examine them in private, especially as we get closer to All Souls Day.
Beautifully arranged and explained images, even for very young children! My three year old will pore over this book, up close and personal, for ten minutes! It doesn't sound like a long time, but very impressive for his attention span. Thank you, Holy Heroes!!!
Getting ready for All Saints/Souls days!! As St Padre Pio would say, "We got souls to get out of Purgatory". We are the Church Militant. Let's get to it!
Although this scorecard is a marvelous teaching aid for kids, I was happy to buy the two pack so my adult sister and I could use it to do the First Five Saturdays at the same time. (This way, I don't have to keep reminding her about the steps.) :)
These cards are an invaluable teaching aid, for young people, as well as adults!
Beautifully done and convenient reminders of our duty to pray for the Holy Souls in November and of the plenary indulgences available. I am giving them to my senior group at church next week.
As new to the faith, I didn't know that such a thing as plenary indulgences for the holy souls in purgatory existed. I found this card to be extremely helpful in providing the guidance needed to participate in this. I appreciated having the instructions and a place to track my intensions. Also the artwork is gorgeous.
These prayer cards are very nice. I am giving them to my grandchildren.
Incredible book! I buy it for everyone who is having children!
I passed them out at Mass today
Very in formative, no long discussion, nicely listed requirements.
Thank you for giving us a way and reminder to pray for the Holy souls in purgatory.
Love these cards!
If you have children - especially daughters- this book is a must have. It is the most beautiful Catholic children’s book I have read! If you have ever visited the Benedictine nuns at Gower or listened to their music - which I highly recommend- you will love this book!
What a delightful book! The artwork is sweet and the rhymes/meter are not as forced as I've come to expect from this type of book. (They appropriately rhymed "composure" with "crozier" and I laughed out loud.) Incorporates some important Catholic and religious concepts for young readers, and the illustrations give space to reinforce more, i.e. the statue of Mary the nuns carry in this picture is not really Mary, just a representation, but the Host in a monstrance that the priest carries in another illustration *really IS* Jesus!
The only thing is... well... it's clearly written for young children, and just as clearly idealized. My husband asked, "Is there any community of women that's going to get along all the time like this?" Meh, probably not, but the book has a focus, and it's a worthwhile one. It's a fun story with delightful elements, and I'm very happy using it to introduce my daughter to the idea of religious life: Catholic girls have more options than just marriage, but they're not always obvious in the middle of the everyday! I also appreciate that DD has heard some of these sisters' music, so I can tie in the book to something she already knows.
It gets the toddler seal of approval: we read it for bedtime tonight and I was asked to leave it on the coffee table so she can "read" it again in the morning. :D
My 6 yo said he “feels God” when he reads it and loves to take it to his place and enjoys reading it all the time. It’s a beautifully illustrated and inspiring picture book for all ages! The book gives you a wonderful insight into the lives of nuns and how they find joy and love for God with every humble aspects of daily life. Highly recommend for young readers and older alike.
I am so glad I found this book for my grandchildren. Not only are the illustrations engaging, but the style of writing makes a fun and easy read and tells a story of daily life as a sister and also of faith and daily walk in love with the Lord.
This book is beautiful inside and out. The illustrations are gorgeous and the story is cute and fun to read. My children love it. Highly recommend.
At first, I was overwhelmed by the subject and the length of this book. Then, as I read it, my daughter was asking about everything. We had some great conversations. The heaviness of the topic of religious life for a five-year-old was balanced well by the simple illustrations. There is some sweet comedy in the sisters' lives, as they raise farm animals. And it was exciting to tell my children the nuns wrote this book - the same ones who have been in the news recently when their foundress was found to possibly be incorrupt!
