The Rosary is, as Pope John Paul II said, the Gospel message in its entirety. And, the Rosary is the best way to teach children the Gospel. What other opportunity do we have in which children can learn about the life of Jesus and Scripture, while praying a devotion recommended by Saints and Popes throughout the ages? But many, including myself, could never get past all the repeating of words to the meditation. With this Scriptural Rosary CD we taught our children to understand and meditate on the Rosary - not just say the words.
The Luminous Mysteries
The second of the 4-volume set of the Mysteries of the Rosary includes an introduction explaining a common misunderstanding about the Rosary and how to better pray it, followed by a Scriptural Rosary, including more than a dozen children. Each mystery is introduced by an explanation of "what happened in the mystery." Then, before each "Hail Mary," a child reads a verse from the Scriptural revelation of the mystery. At the conclusion, hear about the history of the Rosary and how it developed over the centuries into its current form today. Original orchestral music by William Straub aids the beauty of the meditations.

I cannot tell you how much we have learned about the rosary through these CD's. They talk before and after each rosary giving beautiful and easy to understand lessons. My husband and I keep saying to each other, "Wow! Did you know that?". What a blessing that my children can learn all of this important and interesting information about our Catholic faith at such a young age!
The Scripture readings throughout the Rosary help to give us a more profound understanding of the mysteries and a better ability to meditate on the mysteries. Lovely.
excellent teaching tool
For over a year we have done a monthly "Family Rosary Night" with our friends, and we have tried various ways to engage the kids (ages newborn to 10yo) in contemplating the mysteries and listening to what Jesus and his Blessed Mother have to say to us about our lives. Your CDs have truly hit the right note - the meditations and scripture verses illuminate the "stories" and lessons like I have never been able to and the kids are really responding to it. I am so glad to have found a resource (done by and for kids, no less!) that combines hard-core catcechesis with the loving intimacy of a personal relationship with Jesus. I look forward to seeing what Holy Heroes will bring us next!
