- Description
How do Altar Servers learn how to serve at the Mass? Check out this book for some valuable resources! This 1961 classic contains all the valuable information that a young man needs in order to learn how to serve the traditional Latin Mass--yet it is so much more than just "nuts and bolts." After reading this book, boys will come away not only with an understanding of the parts of the Mass and the role they must fulfill; they will also have a true sense of the privilege with which they will be entrusted, and the ways in which they must advance in order to be worthy of that honor.
Each of these 25 illustrated lessons therefore begins with a discussion of the character and responsibilities of those who assist at the altar. This done, a portion of the Latin responses are taught in phonetic form, and after this rubrics are introduced. Each chapter then ends with review questions.
Useful in a classroom setting or for independent study, Learning to Serve is an indispensable resource for all prospective altar servers and those who are charged with their instruction.

from 5960 reviewsI highly recommend buying this book for families who have lost a baby through miscarriage. It gives a great explanation on something that is hard to explain to children.
It's a tale of a BEAUTIFUL journey to God - a real solace even after 46 years' loss. โฅ๏ธ
This case is perfect! I love it.
Perfect book for my 8yr old grandson who is baptized Catholic but not being brought up in a practicing home. Itโs a perfect way to introduce him to a young saint.
My granddaughter was born on the feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe so Iโm always looking for things to help her grow in her devotion. She is 8yrs old and the book is perfect for her
Fit perfect and looked great!
Nicer and more detailed than I imagined. Kids of various ages will enjoy learning about this saint as they color the pictures.
The prayers cards so wonderful, thank you so much for your brilliant work! We might be ordering more.... God bless you always!
Great case! Beautiful image, useful message for first responders, easily visible, and very protective if you do drop your phone.
Love it! Nice, sturdy and beautiful!
Would have wanted a bit more information about Our Lady of Champion.
Love these!
We used the summer faith adventure for a three half-day VBS program at our parish. The material was easy to incorporate into our program.
It would be really great if the early access included a digital download or a DVD option for the videos. Thanks!
Fabulous content...The title says it ALL - perfectly true.
I bought 2 copies for 2 of my grandkids who are heading to college in Aug. I read most of the book and thought it was great -- just basic god ideas!!!!!!!
Wonderful resource. My sons loved this book. Straightforward and very detailed information on how to serve at the Latin Mass.
Excellent training manual for a beginning Latin Mass server, but each chapter is a great lesson for all Catholic Boys. My 8 year-old son ask me to read him a chapter every day.
Wonderful book for any young boy wanting to learn about what it means to be an altar boy in the Traditional Latin rite. Our son loves reading this book and doing the necessary studying. He looks forward to each lesson and loves to review the previous. Well written with wonderful information. A gem of a book!
I bought 2 of these books, one for our son and the other for a dear friend. I liked that the Latin was written phonetically. My son likes the photos and descriptions of the items used and worn as he compares them to the items used in our parish. It solidifies what he already knows and shows him there can be differences for the same items.
Thanks!
We started the lessons with my soon to be first communicant/altar boy and they were easy to read and get through. The lessons are simple enough to understand and short enough to get information he can remember. Thanks.
